This doubles tournament featured a good mix of seasoned veterans and a fine representation of those newly enrolled
in the District 7 program.
Unfolding in one of the District’s most modern venues, an eye-opening 50 pairs of doubles partners embraced the
opportunity to share a history of Hemet West Shuffleboard from July 27 to July 30, 2015.
A cadre of volunteers stepped forward to promote and manage this CSA tournament.
Always of utmost importance, the charts were constructed and updated by Sharyn DiChiro. ATM’s were Jeannie
Gregory (first time at this endeavor), and Lynda Goggin. Board preparation – Chuck Compton, head ref – George
Hayner and Karla Winget applying her skills to the scorekeeping. Many thanks to Nelda Lichtwald for canvassing
all those merchants and rounding up wonderful door prizes.
Lunch service every day was directed by Winnie Mellor. Paul Epps, club president, was always available as
facility director. Jay Davidson, CSA President, had the honor of handing out pins and cash awards to the winners
and gift certificates in the door-prize drawings.
Donations came from these merchants: Applebees, WINCO, Chile’s, Subway, Red Robin and Stater Brothers.
The Bank of Hemet came through, as usual, to contribute to the funding of this event.
We were honored to acknowledge these 16 players who inscribed their names into the records of District 7
First place, Paul Epps and Tootie Chittendon, second place, Ken Phipps and Bridget Gerber, third place, Marie and
Ray Patterson and fourth place, Sharyn and Bob DiChiro.
